Questions and Answers Regarding New Open Burning Regulations Effective October 14, 2009
April 15, 2010
In towns with a total population less than 20,000, you may burn tree limbs with attached leaves. The limbs must be less than 6 inches in diameter and 8 feet in length (also referred to as brush). However, this is not allowed from March 16 through May 14 due to the increased risk of wildfires.

Introduction

Welcome to the Town of Floyd!!!

We are a small town just east of the City of Rome. A small town made up of many everyday people with big hearts and helping hands. People here take pride in our Town, and pitch in helping with projects on a volunteer basis that will better the town. Small towns like ours rely on people like this to help our community grow and be progressive in the modern age.

Our people take a genuine interest in the area’s youth and donate many hours of their time on programs that involve them. Others work hard in our volunteer fire department and EMT squads. Also there were the volunteers that donated their time on the construction of the Monument to our Armed Forces Veterans and Firemen. Town officials and residents spent many hours to get the necessary paperwork done for the expansion of the new water district. And many people volunteer hours in our churches, scouts, senior citizens, grange, and others.

We welcome you to our website and hope that it gives you useful information about our Town and invite you to contact us for any additional information or services you may require.
